As summer fades into fall, I’m reminded how each shift in season has always sparked my imagination and fueled my love for fashion. Even as a kid, I was constantly dreaming up new looks, sketching outfits, and mixing and matching combinations that felt entirely my own. Each change in season brought fresh inspiration — the crispness of fall invited cozy layers, the brightness of spring pushed me toward bold colors, and every shift in weather opened new possibilities to explore. The rhythms of the seasons guided my creativity, turning every day into an opportunity to experiment and play with style.
I remember, as a young girl, immersing myself in a toy called the Fashion Plates set — my favorite toy ever! Carefully selecting tops and skirts, layering textures, and bringing each outfit to life with precise rubs of crayon, I experimented with patterns, colors, and accessories, imagining full ensembles that often felt ahead of their time. And Barbie dolls? They became runway stars — I spent hours styling every detail and bringing them to life on the living room floor. In hindsight, those hours were far more than play — they were the first lessons in creativity, innovation, and the art of transformation.
As I grew into my teenage years, I began designing and wearing my own clothes, styling them in ways that felt uniquely me. Many of the looks I created started to appear in the fashion world, and even now, the designs I imagine and wear continue to be fashion forward. I now realize I had been envisioning trends before they existed — a true fashion visionary in my own right. That early creativity wasn’t just experimentation; it was intuition, imagination, and a deep connection to the language of style.
Now, as I build the Little Yellow Bungalow brand, I find myself returning to that same spirit. Fashion is still my way of marking the seasons of life, not just the weather outside. It’s a language for growth, transition, and transformation. The shift between seasons reminds me of the power of change — that we are allowed to evolve, over and over again.
Seasons change, and with them comes the chance to explore, create, and grow — just as I did as a young girl playing with Fashion Plates and Barbie dolls. Little Yellow Bungalow is my way of sharing that same permission: to evolve, to play, and to express yourself through style. That same spirit of creativity continues to inspire every choice I make — in fashion, in life, and in the vision for Little Yellow Bungalow.
